Ham Radio Hamfest

During the year throughout the US and Canada Ham Radio Operators meet in parks and other locations for Field Day Events, Contesting Events, Hamfests and Emergency Service Exercises. At these live events we set up our temporary ham stations were thousands of ham radio operators meet with their clubs, groups or simply with friends to operate from remote locations.

At Field Day Events you can communicate with others using a simple antenna, using a satellite to send your message, talk to the Astronauts on the ISS Space Station or even bounce your signal off the moon.

This is also a great time to practice your skills for emergency and non-emergency communications. We use these same skills when we help with events such as marathons and bike-a-thons; fund-raisers such as walka-thons; celebrations such as parades; and exhibits at fairs, malls and museums — these are all large, preplanned, non-emergency activities.
Field Day is a great opportunity to enjoy a picnic, a campout, practice for emergencies, an informal contest, meet new friends, learn new ham radio tricks and, most of all have FUN! xxxx
